Funeral

FUNERAL SERVICE

The Orthodox Church must perform the funeral service at the passing of our faithful, orthodox baptised members. The funeral service is the Church’s prayer to rest the souls of our fallen believers.

The burial service at the cemetery is also the tradition of our Church. Traditionally there is no cremation. If the deceased or the deceased family choose to be cremated, then a brief orthodox ceremony can take place at the crematorium only.

MEMORIAL SERVICES

The Memorial services, according to the holy Fathers of our Church offer a great benefit to the souls of the deceased Orthodox Christians and therefore they should be officiated together with a Divine Liturgy as follows:

d) on the three months
e) on the six months
f) on the nine months
